Update from Niara – Light at the End of the Tunnel

DCIM100GOPROThis is an update from my last post. I am doing better, thanks to the support many have offered.

My friend Janet Sailor started a GoFundMe campaign for me to raise more money that could really get me back on my feet. She has been a dear friend since 2009 when I first went public with my experiences. After a conversation with her, she created the campaign as she knows how much writing my book took out of me, having to relive my experiences to write them effectively. I got what care I could afford for my back until my resources ran out. Now there is nothing left and I’m going without chiropractic, acupuncture, Bowen and other forms of care that have really helped in the past. The link will be included below. It is needed.

Funds are needed badly and urgently for dental care which is a ticking time bomb right now, and to be able to seek more care for my back disability. I need to purchase an older Subaru Forester, 2005 or earlier in excellent condition or fix it up for traveling to promote my book again in the future. And I’m not talking dental care in the USA, where it’s exorbitantly expensive, but money to go to Mexico, have lodging and get what I need done there where it’s more affordable.

My life was gutted last year with a series of difficult events when I needed to be well and strong to promote my book. I was already trying to recover from writing the book as well. I could not do it under the pressures and stress I was under at that time. I am still under a lot of pressure and stress – including recent harassment from my landlady a week ago about my dog, in-training to be my service dog. My dog is a prescription from my healthcare providers to help me with my stress levels and PTSD, having her is absolutely necessary, and more than that, protected by federal law. So I did get help getting the landlady to back off and leave me alone finally.

I’m still dealing with massive exhaustion from years of not sleeping well or enough, and the stress of getting ready to move. The good news: I have a couple of options for FINALLY getting into a home in Pagosa Springs on the near horizon. I hope to hear something conclusive about this in the next week to 10 days. Once I’ve moved, I will need significant time to recover from living in this place where the stress levels have been intolerable and the lack of sleep has made it all worse, including my back problems. I just want to get back my health and vitality and get back to work serving the world I live in. Once I have rest and the chance to take care of myself for a while, I have more writing and books planned, videos to teach more about what is going on and how to deal with it, and more. It’s so frustrating to have all of this simmering within and be unable to get moving on it due to exhaustion and stress. Many of you may have noticed how long it’s been since I even did any interviews. I hope to get back to doing them once I’ve rested up and recovered sufficiently. It will have to be after I’ve moved and rested for a while from the work and stresses of the last several years.

As to the GoFundMe campaign: if you were one of the people who contributed to my earlier fundraiser to help get the closing costs money together, there is no pressure on you to contribute again. And even if you are one of my friends who cares about me, there is no pressure to contribute if it is beyond your means right now. If you can share my GoFundMe campaign with others who might help out, that would be very much appreciated. After talking with Janet Sailor about my needs, we decided on an amount of $25,000 to get me back on my feet. On one hand, that sounds like a lot. On the other, in this economy, it’s not that much.

If someone within a reasonable distance from Durango, Colorado had a Subaru Forester in good condition to donate to me rather than money, that would be welcome also. If it’s a major fixer-upper, unless I meet the goal of this GoFundMe campaign, I would not be able to fix it up with all the other expenses I’m facing.

If many people give small amounts, I can reach my goal without creating stress on anyone else, which I would never want for anyone, especially with what I’ve experienced this past year. This is all I ask, what you can give without creating stress for yourselves. If you can’t contribute, I hope you will share the GoFundMe link with others.

Thank you very much, from my heart to yours.

Where Has Niara Been?

It’s seemed forever to me since my last post. I’m going through a very hard time right now and the transition phase I’m in looks like it will take several more months, but I thought I would share with my readers a little of what has been happening.

I finished my book and it was published in November, 2013. The work of it and the emotions of writing it left me in great need of rest and recovery. In writing the book, I at last gave myself full permission to start feeling my feelings about the horrific experiences I have gone through. In the midst of that, I found out my boyfriend had been lying to me and seeing another woman behind my back, likely from the very beginning of our relationship in fall of 2011. I threw him out of my life. It was like suddenly losing my best friend and lover, or at least a person I thought was that for me.

I was devastated. In addition, without the passion and work on the book drivng me any more, kind of creating a bubble in which I worked on the book, the effects of living in an apt that has been continually triggering my PTSD began to really take a huge toll on my health. I don’t sleep well here, have not for many years since with the continual slamming my nervous system never gets a chance to calm down.  The downstairs neighbor continually slams her front door so the floor shakes under my feet and it also knocks the pictures crooked on the walls. She also slams and bangs her interior doors and cabinets – it’s like she never learned to simply shut things in her life, but only slam and bang.

I am in the process of trying to move out of here at last, but there are financial restrictions on what I can have that are making this a long drawn out kind of torture, waiting-waiting-waiting for the right thing to come along. I have not been able to work or write or do any of the other things I might be able to do in a place that gives me enough peace to think clearly. I’m just in a waiting mode, waiting for the right place to come along that will give me a new start. Life has ground completely to a halt where I am living. There are more difficulties going on in my life right now besides these, but hopefully it’s not necessary to give an entire laundry list. Suffice it to say that right now, with all the problems that have been thrown my way this past year, continuing to today, I feel completely bound and – mostly, except for this post today – gagged. So, being sleep deprived, PTSD constantly triggered and being being a nervous wreck is taking a terrible toll. I also deal with daily chronic pain.

I have a lot of plans and ideas for more writing, and more work I would like to offer the world, but with this impending move, my life is in boxes right now while hoping the right home will appear soon… I am in a waiting mode, living, at least for now, an existence where I can’t really move forward in any meaningful way. The one bright spot in my life is my new dog. She has helped me enough to get to the place that I can even write this post.

To this end, since I’m not able to do any work to generate a little more badly needed income right now, I am placing a “Donate” link on my websites. If you can give, and feel in your heart you would like to give something, any amount would be welcome. Thank you in advance from my heart to yours.

DONATE

Someday, I will resurface with more information, more teaching and more to offer this world I live in, which is my heartfelt desire. Many, many blessings to you my friends and followers who may help in advance.

Much Love,
Niara

5 Guidelines for Choosing a Hypnotherapist

During my book writing years, people would email me from time to time about how to find a good hypnotherapist or hypnotist to work with for looking at extraterrestrial encounters, investigate missing time, or even to look at past lives. This underscored to me the need to have this skill to offer and I’m now certified in hypnosis. But what about people who don’t live near enough to me, or to any other hypnotherapists who are “safe” to explore memories with that might just land someplace way outside of “accepted reality”?

First of all, be sure you really want to explore your memories or missing time. It can be like opening Pandora’s Box, and it can’t really be successfully closed again. If you have memories of extraterrestrial experiences or military abductions or other-dimensional experiences, it will take you time to process and integrate such experiences. There can be much turmoil emotionally, even post-traumatic stress, as you work through this. If you are working with me, I strongly suggest continued body-centered sessions to help deal with what you’ve discovered. Even if you’ve had your session with someone else, if they are not available to help you integrate what you discover, then consider working with me or someone else you feel can truly help you. In the old days, there were what I call hit-and-run hypnosis sessions – a session would happen with a hypnotist (rather than a hypnotherapist) and then off that hypnotist would go, leaving their client with a lot of strange and/or frightening material to try and sift through and make sense of on their own.

I will be doing some limited sessions via Skype for a while to see how they go and if this is a good, viable way to work with people at a distance. My guidelines on this are firm: prospective clients must have a trusted person present with them to handle Skype and technical aspects of the session while they are exploring their memories. The other equally important aspect of this is to watch over the person being hypnotized and provide a sense of safety. “Trusted person” would mean some friend you trust completely and who you would seek out to talk about your experiences under hypnosis anyway.

But what about those who are not able to do a session via Skype for some reason? What is the best way to find help to explore your memories and experiences? Following are some suggestions.

1) Finding the right hypnotherapist/hypnotist.

If you can, find out if a possible hypnotherapist works with people who have had ET encounters, and has experience with this, and experience with ET encounters is important! In looking for a hypnotherapist, try any spiritual circles of friends or places where people gather who you feel good about. Let them know you are looking for someone, and, as much as you are comfortable with in opening up to your circle of friends or the spiritual gathering, tell them why you are looking, and ask what they know about any prospective hypnosis practitioner. If they help you find someone, then you can apply the discernment process I’ve outlined below. If you don’t have this kind of circle of support, try the yellow pages or do some internet searches for hypnosis.

2) Prepare yourself to meet and talk with a prospective hypnotherapist or hypnotist.

Before meeting and talking with them, calm and quiet any emotional or mental activity going on in you. Mental activity to quiet down: worry thoughts, racing thoughts, anxiety thoughts. Emotional activity: emotions you feel caused by the above thoughts that could be causing any emotional-body reactions, such as faster heartbeat or breathing, any tightness or sensation of contraction in the throat, chest or stomach area. Too much mental or emotional activity can jam your intuitive radar. Basically, you want a calm, quiet and centered demeanor when meeting and talking to them the first time, at least as much as possible. Then your intuitive radar can function more properly. You will be able to trust your intuition more when perceiving from this calm, centered state. If thinking and emotions come up, gently tell them you will give them time to be thought/felt later, when you are alone. Once you’ve prepared yourself by calming and centering, talk with the prospective hypnotherapist on the phone or in person (again, before agreeing to or arriving to do a session!) carefully pay attention to how you feel in your body while talking with them.

3) Take some time to yourself to assess how you felt in talking with the prospective hypnotherapist or hypnotist.

Once you’ve had this initial talk with the prospective hypnotherapist, take some time to assess how you felt in their presence from the calm centeredness, as much as you were able to cultivate and maintain. How did the discussion and information “land” in your body? In a body-mind state of calm centeredness of possible perception, what came up for you, in the mind or the body? As much as possible, perceive the spontaneously arising thoughts, emotions or body sensations that come up in meeting the hypnotherapist without too much second-guessing or dissecting with logic. I have learned to pay attention to feelings that constitute “YES” or “NO” in my body, and I believe you can also. One is yielding, relaxed and may have happiness with it, the other is resisting and has a closed, contracted feeling in the body, with mental thoughts of concern and a feeling of hesitancy.

4) Choose someone who will support YOU in working with you, not someone with a personal bias to support their own research, opinions or beliefs.

In talking with them, find out their own feelings about the kinds of experiences you want to explore, or their feelings about abductions or contacts or other strange experiences, such as military or covert ops abductions. What is their approach? If they have any set beliefs or ideas about abductions as being bad and invasive, steer clear of them. Even if your experiences feel bad or invasive to you, the last thing you need is someone who will commiserate with that or try to look for and draw out all the information supportive to such beliefs about experiences. It could make things worse for you in the long run and keep you from discovering everything about your experiences, including the gifts of your experiences that come from integrating them into your life and new expanded world view.

Mary Rodwell, a friend and hypnotherapist from Australia, has sought in her work to simply bring forth people’s experiences through gentle questioning without applying any of her own belief systems, preconceptions or prejudices to what she and her clients uncover in sessions. Because of this, she has taken her clients – including myself – to some remarkable places of understanding and insight with regard to their experiences, and it comes far more from we the clients for ourselves than from her.

5) Trust is essential to going under hypnosis.

Pay attention to your feelings and perceptions. It’s vital that you select someone to work with you feel good about. In investigating extraordinary experiences that fall outside our normal daily reality, there is enough that can be strange, otherworldly, other-dimensional, disturbing, upsetting or downright frightening. You don’t need to feel you can’t truly trust the hypnotherapist on top of all that. He or she should be a guide for you that you can fully trust.

When all is said and done, pay attention to your intuitional feelings and how they land or register in your body. Thoughts and emotions will flow from these intuitional feelings, but don’t go off into too many logical thought processes. If you feel the “YES” or “NO” in your body, trust it, and either work with the person who inspires the “YES” or move on from the person who inspires the “NO” and look further, and apply the same assessment and discernment process to the next prospective hypnotherapist or hypnotist.

I hope this post is helpful. If you have questions, I will be watching the comments section under this post and will do my best to address any questions in a follow up post or video. Watch for future posts, audio or video logs about opening to our tel-empathy and expanded senses, and discussing the concepts of resonance, dissonance and discernment.

Namaste,

Niara

Learning to Cry

“The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.”
~ The Prophet, by Kahlil Gibran

I have been through extraordinary trauma; trauma that warps the mind and makes the soul weep, even when my body, conditioned to be stoic and “show no weakness” couldn’t let the weeping happen.

Fortunately, at long last, I am learning to cry; indeed, I can’t really prevent it any more. When I am moved by either grief, beauty or some other upwelling of emotion, I find myself crying. It’s as if some dam of stoicism has cracked and all kinds of tears are pouring forth at times; tears of sadness, grief, of relief, even of joy.

I can only say that it’s better to be able to weep than not. In the past, when I could not allow myself to cry to the point it seemed my ability to cry had been shut off, the internal pressure of needing an outlet for grief and not being able to get it out by giving vent to tears had me feeling like I might implode.

A New Way of Being in the World

In trying to digest way too much from the “information superhighway” that is the internet, and feeling total information overload, another big insight is making a shift from being an information and learning junkie (I’m a lifelong learner and love learning new things!) to being far more inward-focused and moving from my own inner center, listening to impulses to do this or that or just “be.” I still want to learn as needed, but will be tuning in much more deeply to following my inner guidance on what I need moment to moment. I am coming to feel – and trust – that by staying centered as much as possible, moment to moment, I can be guided to what I most need in that same moment. No need to pile on tons upon layered tons of outer data and information “just in case.”

My wonder questions: What could I learn by following my impulses, by making space inside myself for the innate wisdom I might not have even realized was in there because I’m looking outside of myself so much of the time? What knowledge might be seeded within my soul, waiting for an outlet, waiting for a special new way of listening to see what might emerge? I don’t know, but I’m excited to learn new ways of deep listening within to find out. I will be finding ways to put myself in the path of this newer way of being, opening more and more to intuitive guidance, more and more to moving on my inner impulses as much as possible.

First-time Author Learning Curves

I guess I’m a rank amateur when it comes to being a new author. There is so much more to self-publishing a book than I imagined! Next book, I’ll be much wiser. And most likely there will be more books. Right now, I’m in an “aversion to technology mode” out of necessity to get my body back in shape after 4 years of sitting, writing, editing and formatting. After all the work on Facing the Shadow, Embracing the Light, it’s time for me to give some tender-loving-care to myself for a while. Writing the book has been a vital part of my healing process… remembering, writing, expressing, sharing. And I’ve discovered in my trauma recovery work studies that the kind of back problems I have are directly related to the sexual assaults I suffered during my experiences. But I believe in the complete resiliency of the body to heal when given the right opportunities, beginning within the realm of consciousness.

Managing My Electronic Life…

Sometime in the future, reworking how I use the internet, including email, Facebook, and other digital means of communication, I’ll be creating more blog postings, written and video. In the comments sections below such entries, I’ll be paying attention to questions that people pose to me about my experiences, and I may create a Facebook group for the same purpose. I will do my best to address these questions in writing or in a short video.

I plan to do some teleconference calls with groups of people where questions can be answered in an interactive, real-time setting. Because for all the people who have suffered trauma in one way or another who resonate with my way of working with people and trauma, I want to be there for you as I can. If you are a person who needs deeper work in this area, please visit my About Body-Centered Therapy page to learn more about me and my skills and talents in this area, not the least of which is having gone through the process myself.

Posts on this website and on my Facing the Shadow, Embracing the Light website will diverge from here on… Encounters with Healing will be more devoted to the healing arts, especially as pertaining to trauma, and teaching about consciousness expansion. Facing the Shadow, Embracing the Light will be for sharing new learnings and insights about extraterrestrials, disclosure and much more about the forces impacting and shaping our world today.

I sincerely hope the book does well out in the world, as of today. I poured into it all my love of this planet, of all life here, and especially my love of humanity and the wonderful things we can become if we can accept our differences and unify to celebrate the hearts and souls that we essentially are, that simply want to love and be loved in return. From my heart to all of yours, I wish you all your highest and best personal and spiritual evolution.

In’lakech – I am another yourself,
Niara

Writing, Editing, Proofing… Done!

Well, I wondered if this day would ever come, but it has. I’ve finished all work on the book and it’s off for formatting for self-publishing. Lots of obstacles kept popping up, but I’ve finally prevailed!

I’ll post here again when the book is available for sale! Right now I need to jump into a whole new set of tasks, especially finishing up my Trauma Releasing Exercises training. Still have to complete Level II to work with groups. More tasks to do as well on all kinds of things that have been on hold for a long time due to book work!

Thanks for reading…

Warmly,

Niara

Still Working… Still Moving Forward

For those following here who are waiting for the book to come out, I thought I’d post an update.

There have been so many little delays cropping up – internet being down for a few days, Mercury retrograde interruptions and distractions, and perhaps me overestimating just how much work I can humanly do in a day, especially still having chronic back pain that limits how much sitting I can do each day. If only I could just work and not eat, sleep or grocery shop! And, skip things like Thanksgiving, etc. and one risks being called a grinch about holidays. So it seems I am keeping up with life as well as working to keep up with publishing the book!

I did just accomplish a major milestone this week: I finished all the edits from my editor for the entire manuscript. I now have a fresh copy that I will be reading through – as quickly but as accurately as possible – and will then be working on uploading it to a self-publishing website for formatting and publication.

Other things that slowed work down on the book were finishing up a new Level I certification in Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE), but this is a very worthwhile “distraction” from the book work. It’s very important to me to have skills in place for helping others recover from trauma. The process of TRE – a series of exercises designed to fatigue the muscles of the feet, legs and lower torso enough to bring on body tremors, these tremors being the trauma release mechanism all living organisms inherently have within. Human beings have the unique capability of suppressing their natural tremoring for trauma release, often because they don’t want to appear to have lost control of themselves. So TRE is a way of retraining the body to get back in touch with it’s natural trauma releasing process.

I will be working on my Level II TRE certification in the new year, which will allow me to work with groups – and after the completion of the book!

Many Blessings,

Niara

New Healing Modalities coming in the next year…

In the next 2 to 3 months, with help from Spirit, I should have my book published, “Facing the Shadow, Embracing the Light: A Journey of Spirit Retrieval and Awakening.”

Once it is out there and people are reading it, I want to be as well prepared to help others heal from trauma as I can. In addition to the body-centered, energetic and intuitive skills I currently have, I am working on additional certifications. I have completed Dolores Cannon’s Quantum Healing Hypnosis certification training to help people explore missing time or past lives with a focus on personal healing and understanding.

I am also in training to become certified in Emotional Freedom Technique under the instruction of Lindsay Kenny, EFT Master. I have found EFT to be a powerful tool in streamlining the healing process. The other certification I’m working on is in TRE – Trauma Releasing Exercises, developed by Dr. David Berceli. Click on their names to learn more about them and their work.

While it’s important to engage the mind and emotions through discussion, and simply being heard deeply is incredibly necessary to begin the healing process, using body-centered tools to get beneath the mind to the actual energy blocks lodged in the body will bring greater ease and healing. It is my sincere wish to bring these types of healing skills to people who have had concerns about going to more mainstream types of therapists or counselors, fearing ridicule or worse due to the nature of their experiences and the denial about the UFO and ET phenomenon woven throughout our culture.

I know what it’s like to live with post-traumatic stress for years on end, afraid to seek help, trying to deal with it in isolation. Today I’m committed to that kind of story coming to an end for so many others out there who have also been dealing with stress and emotional, and even physical, pain in isolation, on the outside looking in at society, family and friends who can’t even conceive of the nature of the experiences that caused the trauma.

Thank you for reading, and many blessings to you.
